The 2027 Saudi International Water Treatment Exhibition will take place in Riyadh in June, targeting the trillion-dollar water market and supporting water security systems in West Asia.  

In response to Saudi Arabia's core strategic plan for sustainable water use under the 'Vision 2030', the 2027 Saudi International Water Treatment Exhibition, focusing on water treatment technology innovation and industrial collaboration in the Gulf region, is officially scheduled to be held from June 7 to 9, 2027, at the Riyadh International Convention & Exhibition Center. The exhibition, themed 'Technology Empowering Water: Building a Sustainable Water Future in Arid Regions', is the largest local flagship water industry event in Saudi Arabia, covering the most complete industry chain. It will serve as a key platform for global water enterprises to connect with the Middle East blue market and participate in local water infrastructure projects.  

As one of the driest countries in the world, Saudi Arabia receives less than 100mm of annual rainfall, with over 70% of drinking water supply relying on desalination. Meanwhile, with urban expansion, industrial upgrades, and agricultural modernization, the daily water treatment gap continues to grow. According to publicly available plans from the Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture, from 2027 to 2030, Saudi Arabia will invest over 120 billion Saudi Riyals (around 32 billion USD) in new and expanded desalination projects, upgrading municipal sewage recycling systems, and laying intelligent water supply networks nationwide. The goal is to increase municipal sewage resource utilization to 70% and reduce national water transmission losses to under 8% by 2030, creating a trillion-dollar market that is attracting global water industry resources at an accelerated pace.  

The exhibition is expected to cover an area of 60,000 square meters, gathering 900 exhibiting companies from more than 40 countries and regions, with professional visitors exceeding 40,000. Attendees will include representatives from official organizations like the Saudi Water Authority, Saudi National Water Company, and Saline Water Conversion Corporation, as well as water engineering contractors and industrial procurement leaders from the six Gulf countries and North Africa. The exhibition will feature six core themed zones, covering the full industry chain: the Desalination Technology & Equipment Zone will showcase the latest commercialized results in low-temperature multi-effect distillation, reverse osmosis membrane technology, and renewable energy-coupled desalination; the Wastewater Resource Utilization Zone will focus on zero-discharge industrial wastewater and recycled water solutions for agriculture and municipalities; the Smart Water Zone will present leak monitoring systems, AI scheduling platforms, and IoT water meters; in addition, specialized zones for membrane modules and water treatment chemicals, rainwater harvesting and brackish water treatment, water-saving technologies, and residential water purification equipment will be set up to precisely match market demand across different scenarios.
